In 1999, Evie Altman co-founded EZGSA with Scott Orbach. Until the Spring of 2005, Evie oversaw business development, production, and corporate initiatives, in addition to monitoring GSA Schedules and maintaining relationships with local and national government officials and procurement officers. Evie now spends more time with her family and with creative projects while serving an advisory role for all aspects of the business. She also continues to provide quality control for all proposals and marketing projects undertaken by EZGSA and assists with managing personnel. Previous to Evie's work with EZGSA, she served for six years as president of Evolve, Inc., a company specializing in program development and grant writing for non-profits and government agencies. She had also: served as executive director of the International Osteoarthritis Research Society, where she spearheaded international meetings and assisted with journal editing; acted as director of program development for Koba Associates, a government contractor based in Washington, D.C. Before Koba, Evie spent three years as an action organizer in the central office of the National Organization for Woman (NOW), where she met with NOW members across the country to organize meetings and rallies, created white papers and brochures, worked with the NOW political action committee, and helped develop a variety of public relations materials and events. Evie has also worked as the assistant editor for New Times, a weekly newspaper in Miami, and as a freelance music critic. She received her undergraduate degrees in Film and Literature from Boston University. |
