Faisal Hoque Biography :

Faisal Hoque is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of the BTM Corporation (Business Technology Management Corporation). BTM Corporation innovates new business models, enhances financial performance, and improves operational efficiency at leading global corporations, government agencies, and social businesses by converging business and technology with its unique products and intellectual property (IP). The company focuses on executing solutions from a concept to value lifecycle with management processes, software applications, and cross-disciplinary domain expertise that allow its customers to build better businesses through the strategic use of technology.

A former senior executive at General Electric (GE) and other multi-nationals, Mr. Hoque is an internationally known, visionary entrepreneur and award winning thought leader. He conceived and developed Business Technology Management (BTM) to direct the social and economic growth of organizations by converging business and technology, helping transform them into 'whole-brained enterprises.'

He is the author of The Alignment Effect (Financial Times/Prentice Hall, 2002), Winning the 3-Legged Race (BTM Institute/Financial Times/Prentice Hall, 2005), Six Billion Minds (BTM Institute/Aspatore, 2006), and Sustained Innovation (BTM Press, 2007), among other publications. He has written numerous articles and papers for such publications as BusinessWeek, The Economist, Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and CIO Magazine, and is a frequent public speaker.

Mr. Hoque founded BTM Corporation in 1999. As the founder, he conceived and developed its unique business model for managing business and technology together to the world's leading corporations, governments, and social businesses, resulting in record growth since the company's inception. The wingspan of BTM Corporation's success now exceeds 12 major industries, including manufacturing, consumer goods, hospitality, financial services, insurance, defense, government agencies, and utilities. The company has twice been named one of the fastest growing technology companies in North America in the annual Deloitte Technology Fast 500. Based on revenue growth of 1,057% from 1999 to 2003, and 1,098% from 2000 to 2004, the company ranked number 207 and 167 in the annual competition.

Today, BTM Corporation's customers and partners includes a diverse group of leading global brands including JP Morgan, Marriott, Paccar, PepsiCo, Northrop Grumman, Sabre, US Department of Treasury, WC Bradley, American Financial Group, Best Western, BNP Paribas, Brinks, CompUSA, Exelon, French Social Security Services, IBM, and numerous academics from top B-schools, as well as social business enterprises such as the Grameen Solutions (a sister concern of micro-credit famed Grameen Bank).

A native of Bangladesh, Mr. Hoque is passionately committed to raising global awareness of social, economic, and sustainability issues and actively works to educate and foster economic viability. In 2003, this commitment led him to launch the BTM Institute - a non-profit think tank that promotes several cross-disciplinary research and educational initiatives with global support from the academic, industry, and thought leadership communities in a collaborative effort to bridge the gap between business and technology.

More recently, he further dedicated his attention to those less fortunate by establishing BTM Agrim to focus on the needs of the underserved by working with global 2000 companies, governments, NGO's and social entrepreneurs to create long lasting human and social impacts by developing innovative social business models in the emerging markets.

Mr. Hoque built his first commercial business technology product at the age of 19 while studying at the University of Minnesota. He founded two other award-winning companies prior to the BTM Corporation and is an early pioneer of re-usable software application components. He has personally led over $200M in private equity and venture capital transactions for various early-to-growth stage companies. Mr. Hoque began his career with management positions at Dun & Bradstreet and Pitney Bowes. In 1994, GE Capital recruited Mr. Hoque, then one of its youngest technology executives, to launch a comprehensive B2B electronic commerce spin-off.
