During law school, Fernand was the recipient of the Austin W. Lewis Scholarship Award. After graduation, he clerked for the Honorable Marcel Livaudais, Jr. of the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, from 1996-1998. He also served for two years on the Board of the Young Lawyers Section of the New Orleans Bar Association. Fernand's practice has concentrated on bankruptcy and oil and gas litigation. He also has experience in general commercial matters, including employment, malpractice and general contract litigation. He has advised clients and successfully defended actions regarding various energy-related matters and contracts, federal and state antidiscrimination statutes, and unfair trade practices. |
