Filippo Mazza is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery Studio Legale Associato based in its Rome office. He is a member of the Corporate Department, where his practice focuses on legal issues relating to mergers and acquisitions, private equity, corporate and commercial, restructuring and real estate.
He is particularly active in the insurance and energy markets, having assisted several large public corporations in their investments in Italy.
Filippo's practice includes handling of regulatory and compliance issues associated with corporate matters.
He has published several articles on tender offers, international contracts, and comparative law and is a frequent lecturer at seminars and masters' programs held by Italian universities.

Advised a German world leader in reinsurance in (i) negotiating the acquisition of listed Italian insurance companies; and (ii) selling the majority stake of an Italian real estate company
Assisted a Dutch-Belgian bank-insurance company in entering the Italian market through the acquisition of a relevant stake of a listed Italian bank
Assisted US companies in their energy trading projects in Italy
Advised a European leader in the energy sector in (i) the acquisition of 20% of the share capital of a listed Italian company valued at �1.5 billion; and (ii) the tender offer for 100% of the capital of such company valued at �5.5 billion
Assisted a German insurance company in (i) the purchase of Italian listed and non-listed insurance companies valued at �840 million; and (ii) in the ensuing mandatory takeover bid on the listed company valued at �218 million
