Francine C. Shaw is president and CEO of DuPont Performance Elastomers, a wholly owned DuPont subsidiary. She joined DuPont in 1977 as an accountant in the Parlin, N.J., Photo Products business.
She has served in a variety of functional and management positions that have incorporated marketing, manufacturing, financial, and human resource responsibilities. She was a member of the start-up team for a new manufacturing facility in Manati, Puerto Rico; served as plant manager for the DuPont Agricultural Products' site in Mobile, Ala.; and held the dual role of global business director for DuPont Mylar� Polyester Film and plant manager at its Florence, S.C., site. In 1997, she was named managing director for the worldwide polyester films business, and the following year became vice president and general manager of DuPont Polyester Films. During her tenure with the films business, a major acquisition was accomplished and Ms. Shaw launched the DuPont Teijin Films joint venture - a 50/50 joint venture between DuPont and Teijin Limited of Japan. She became chairman and chief executive officer of that joint venture. In January 2002 she was named vice president and general manager - DuPont Global Services, and became vice president - Corporate Operations in January 2004. Ms. Shaw assumed her current position in April 2006.
Throughout her career, she has been active in the communities in which she has lived, including having served on local boards of United Way as well as Community Awareness Panels. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, N.J., where she graduated in 1976.
Born in South Amboy, N.J., in 1954, Ms. Shaw holds a bachelor's degree in Economics.
