Frank E. O'Bryan began working in the mortgage industry in 1955, and in 1967 was named president of Southern California Mortgage & Loan and Southern Cities Escrow. In 1979 the companies were sold to Shearson, where O'Bryan served the next six years as a top executive. In 1981 Shearson was sold to American Express. In 1985 O'Bryan resigned as vice chairman of Shearson/American Express, reacquired the Shearson escrow division and changed its name to Spring Mountain Escrow Corporation, which is now headquartered in Newport Beach, California. A graduate of the University of Arizona, O'Bryan serves as Vice Chairman of WMC Mortgage Corporation, as a member of the board of directors for Standard Pacific Corp., and is a past member of the board of directors of both Damon Corporation and Grubb & Ellis. |
