Frank H.T. Rhodes, a director at the Washington Advisory Group, advises on academic management and program analysis to colleges and universities. He was president of Cornell University for eighteen years before retiring in 1995, having previously served as vice president for academic affairs and Dean of the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts at the University of Michigan. A geologist by training, Dr. Rhodes was a member of President Bush's Education Policy Advisory Committee. He has also served as chair of the National Science Board and of the boards of the American Council on Education (ACE), the American Association of Universities, and the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. He was chair of the ACE Commission on Minority Participation in Education and American Life, and was a member of the Commission on Renewing the Academic Presidency. Dr. Rhodes has published widely in the fields of geology, paleontology, evolution, the history of science, and education. He is the current president of the American Philosophical Society.
