Frank Small was hired by Sandy Spring in 1990 as Vice President & Retail Branch Administrator. He was promoted to the executive management team in 1994 and was named Chief Operating Officer in 2002. Mr. Small's banking career began in 1969 with a small community bank and progressed to Vice President and Manager of Branch Operations at the former Maryland National Bank before joining Sandy Spring. Mr. Small holds a BA from the University of Maryland and has completed numerous continuing education courses in banking, management, and leadership. Mr. Small chairs the Executive Leadership Team at Sandy Spring and as such oversees the major functions of commercial banking, retail banking, corporate services, risk management, finance, and information technology. In conjunction with Mr. Hollar, Mr. Small is responsible for the strategic planning process for the company. |
