Fred Beck is a software engineer, entrepreneur and lawyer. Mr. Beck brings to the table 25 years of software development experience (20 of those years in healthcare) and the creativity to think beyond the next sale. Mr. Beck began creating software solutions for shop floor automation in 1979 and then moved into writing research software to aid geneticists in their research and development efforts. In 1983, Mr. Beck's expertise in complex data structures and shop floor automation lead him to develop laboratory information systems for a West German software company. The sudden demise of that company caused Mr. Beck and Mr. Rhoads to combine their knowledge and experience in order to create a support mechanism for the laboratory customers left without support. The small support company morphed into a development company as its new customers asked for new and better products. Many of those original customers who upgraded to the new OpusLab product are still customers today.
His entrepreneurial spirit has served him well as he helped shape opportunity into success, growing the company from a two person start-up to a leader in Web-based clinical solutions |
