Frederic L. Cook, CPA is Tax Counsel with Freed Maxick & Battaglia, CPAs, PC. Mr. Cook was a partner with the International Accounting Firm of Coopers & Lybrand, LLP. He served in their Rochester, Syracuse, Buffalo and Memphis, Tennessee offices. In Buffalo and Memphis, Mr. Cook was in charge of the tax practice in that office until 1986. From 1986 to present, Mr. Cook was Senior Vice President of Mark IV Industries where his main function was the structuring of tax sensitive transactions for this international conglomerate. Following the sale of Mark IV Industries in September of 2000, Mr. Cook continued to serve as tax counsel to Mark IV Industries, as well as Protective Closures (a closely held entity purchased by Mr. Sal Alfiero, former chairman of Mark IV Industries). Mark IV Industries is a $2 billion international company that engaged in over 100 purchase and spin-off transactions that included numerous tax considerations. Mr. Cook has extensive experience working with all of the international accounting firms. In addition, Mr. Cook is the National Chairman of the Tourette Syndrome Association, a national, non-profit organization supporting education and research efforts to combat the effects of Tourette Syndrome. He is a graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology. |
