Fred Halstead has more than 28 years executive search and management experience. For 13 years prior to joining Ward Howell International in 1991, Fred was President of Halstead & Associates, Inc., an executive search firm that served clients throughout the United States. Through three mergers he served as a Partner with Ward Howell International, LAI Worldwide and TMP Worldwide. Fred joined StratfordGroup in 2000, which was acquired by DHR International in 2001. Fred is Executive Vice President and Managing Director of DHR�s Dallas office. Fred has completed over 275 high level searches including assignments for chief executive officers and other senior level executives for energy, integrated healthcare systems, construction, financial services, and other diverse service and manufacturing companies. He has completed the only academically based executive coaching program in the U.S. He has also successfully worked as a coach with client organizations to increase the effectiveness of their executive teams and worked with senior executives. Fred is the author and co-author of articles published in Modern Healthcare, Trustee, Physician Executive, and Healthcare Executive magazines. Most recently, Modern Healthcare reported the results of a DHR National Healthcare CEO Leadership Survey that Fred created and led. He has given presentations to professional associations and has been a guest lecturer in undergraduate and graduate school programs. Fred graduated from Wabash College in Indiana and then attended Northwestern Graduate School of Business. He received his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas. Prior to becoming an executive search consultant, Mr. Halstead served as an officer in the United States Air Force and in progressively more responsible financial management positions in industry. Since 1975, Fred has been an active volunteer as a board member and as chairman of the board for several business, civic and community organizations in Dallas including the Kiwanis Club, the YMCA, the Exchange Club, The Family Guidance Center and the Central Dallas Association. Fred has also served on the vestry of his Church and as an active Habitat for Humanity volunteer. |
