Fred Harman joined Oak as a General Partner in July 1994 after seven years with Morgan Stanley's Venture Capital Group where he was a General Partner. Harman's primary focus is on Internet infrastructure software and services and while at Oak, he has led Internet infrastructure investments in Exodus, Inktomi, InterNAP, Peak XV, Scale Eight, Sigma Networks and WINfirst. Other Internet service companies include Avenue A, Campus Pipeline, RioPort, and Qpass. Harman has also led enterprise software and service investments including Captura, ClickSoftware, Knowledge Networks, ILOG, Pivotal, Primus, Securant and Talisma. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Harman worked in Business Development at Hughes Communications, where he was involved in the formation of the predecessor to DirecTV. Harman received an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and a BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University where he was a Hughes Fellow. |
