Fred McClain has been a computer industry innovator for over 25 years. He has launched several entrepreneurial efforts, from consumer Internet services to ventures bridging industry and government research. He founded Boojum Mobile, which offers secure, easy to use, two-factor authentication on a cellular phone to replace the use of simple Username and Password for online transactions. Before Boojum, he founded SkyDesk, a pioneer in online data backup services for the small office/home office market.Fred holds patents for the algorithms employed in SkyDesk's core @Backup service. Prior to SkyDesk, he was Chief Architect for data storage and management products at OpenVision Technologies. He co-founded the National Storage Laboratory (NSL) and in 1984 co-founded the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC). |
