Fredric Harman is a General Partner of Oak Investment Partners. He became a Director of SHOP.COM in April 2005.Harman joined Oak in July, 1994 after seven years with Morgan Stanley's Venture Capital Group, where he was a General Partner. Harman's primary focus is on Internet/Enterprise software and services. While at Oak, Harman has led Internet infrastructure investments in Aventail, Exodus, Inktomi (Yahoo) and Internap. Other Internet service companies include Allyes, aQuantive, Campus Pipeline (SCT), Cobalt, FastClick, NetBlue, Qpass, and Razorgator. Enterprise application investments include Business Engine, Captura (Concur), ILOG, Knowledge Networks, Concerto (merged with Melita), Pivotal, Primus Knowledge Solutions, Quintus (Avaya), Reardon Commerce, Securant (RSA), and Talisma. He also has led outsourced services investments in Sutherland Global Services, International Manufacturing Services ("IMS") and VXI Electronics (both acquired by Celestica).Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Harman worked in Business Development at Hughes Communications where he was involved in the formation of the predecessor to DirecTV.Harman received a MBA degree from Harvard University's Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Science degree and Masters of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University where he was a Hughes Fellow. |
