Dr. Kendall joined CLP in August 2001 and is responsible for research and development activities in areas relevant to the CLP Group. She also became the Group Director for Environment in May 2003 and provides support on the management of environmental issues across the CLP Group's activities. Dr. Kendall has over 20 years' experience and expertise in the engineering and energy-related industry. She started her career as Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering with University of California, Berkeley. She then spent 15 years as a consulting engineer in Failure Analysis Associates Inc., California where she was involved in engineering projects for corporate and institutional clients. From 1990 to 1996, she was a member of the Hearing Board of the (San Francisco) Bay Area Air Quality Management District, serving a Vice Chair and then Chair. From 1996 to 2000, Dr. Kendall was Director of Strategic Science and Technology of Electric Power Research Institute in California. She was responsible for managing and implementing a technology innovation portfolio spanning applications in energy conversion, delivery and use, as well as environmental and health effects of energy use and sustainable development. Immediately prior to joining CLP Research Institute, Dr. Kendall was Professor of the Practice of Mechanical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. |
