As District Administrator, Moore oversees VDOT�s responsibilities in 11 counties of the Shenandoah Valley. He represents the agency to motorists, local governments and the business community and is a member of the Winchester-Frederick and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Metropolitan Planning Organizations.
The Staunton District includes 6,435 miles of roadway, 325 miles of Interstate and employs about 800 people, in the Luray, Edinburg, Harrisonburg, Verona and Lexington Residencies.
Moore previously held the position of Assistant Resident Engineer in Fredericksburg and Resident Engineer in Warrenton, Virginia. His first career was as an engineer officer in the U.S. Marine Corps from which he retired as a lieutenant colonel.
Education
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master�s Degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. He is a licensed professional engineer.

Personal
Originally from Oakland, California, he now lives in Warrenton with his wife, Robin. Their daughter, Bonny is a student at the Medical College of Virginia.
