Garrett B. Smith serves as Vice President and General Counsel of Leor. Prior to joining the company in March 2006, Mr. Smith worked at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, an international law firm based in Houston, Texas. Since April 2005, Mr. Smith has been intimately involved in the firm's representation of Leor, and has worked closely with Leor's management team on all corporate matters, including the negotiation, documentation, and implementation of the EnCana, Amaranth, and Goldman Sachs transactions. At Bracewell & Giuliani, Mr. Smith represented clients in a wide range of corporate and transactional matters with a focus on oil and gas and energy transactions, including acquisitions, divestitures, business combinations, and debt and equity financings. Mr. Smith's responsibilities at Leor include providing legal oversight for all aspects of Leor's business, including financings, acquisitions and divestitures, contracts, title matters, regulatory compliance, and the management of outside counsel on special assignments.
In 1998, Mr. Smith earned a J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law in Boulder, Colorado. He also received a B.A. in Humanities from the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, Iowa, graduating magna cum laude in 1994. |
