Mr. Newman spent 23 years working at Warner Music, Canada where he served as the Senior Vice President , Sales and Marketing for 13 years before going on to become the President, CEO and COO of Warner Music, Canada for 5 years. During his time at Warner Music, Mr. Newman signed two of the top five independent labels to distribution deals and was responsible for negotiating all artist contracts. In addition to music, Mr. Newman was involved with video accounts including CD Plus (Video One), Rogers, Best Buy, Walmart, Blockbuster and HMV. At Warner Music, Mr. Newman was instrumental in moving the company into a more defined direction by consolidating departments and centralizing staff into four branches and two regional offices. Mr. Newman currently serves on the Board of Music Therapy Foundation, Toronto Symphony Orchestra Sonic Bloom, East Coast Music Association, Canadian Country Music Association, Canadian Arts and Sciences ACDNemy and Canadian Recording Industry Association. Mr. Newman was appointed as a Director of Sound Revolution on November 1, 2006. |
