Garth T. Vincent has served as a Director of 1-800 CONTACTS since July 2003. Mr. Vincent is a partner in the law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP. Mr. Vincent has particular expertise in the contact lens industry. He has served as 1-800 CONTACTS' national litigation counsel, handling nearly all of the Company's most significant litigation as well as various regulatory matters before the Federal Trade Commission, Food & Drug Administration and state regulatory boards throughout the country. He has also been actively involved in the Company's legislative activities at both the state and federal level. Mr. Vincent is also active in several bar and professional organizations, including the American Bar Association (Antitrust and Intellectual Property Sections), the California State Bar Association (Antitrust Section) and the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He was selected as "Outstanding Young Lawyer" in 1996 by the J. Reuben Clark Law Society (Los Angeles Chapter) and presently serves on its board. Mr. Vincent received his bachelor's degree from Harvard University in 1985 and his law degree from the Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California, Berkeley in 1988. Following graduation he served as a law clerk to U.S. Solicitor General Charles Fried and, later, to the Honorable Patrick E. Higginbotham of the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. |
