Mr. Miller served in various management and research and development posts until he was elected a Vice President effective November 1, 1992. Mr. Miller was elected Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer in May 2003. He is the executive officer primarily responsible for Goodyear�s purchasing operations worldwide. Goodyear employee since 1967. dent of the Goodyear-SRI Global Purchasing Company (GSGPC), a joint venture company in addition to his position as a vice president and officer of Goodyear.
Previously he had been general manager of specialty tires for two years.
Miller joined Goodyear in 1965 as a member of the co-op program while attending the University of Cincinnati. He became a chemical product sales trainee after receiving a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering in 1969.
Two months later he became a sales engineer in the Chemical Division and spent five years in that position before being promoted to product sales manager.
In 1978, he was named marketing manager and was promoted to business manager a year later.
Miller became manager, chemical research and development planning, in 1983 and manager, corporate research and development projects, in 1984. A year later he was promoted to director, films development worldwide.
From 1986 to 1989 he was a purchasing agent before becoming director, tire value and competitive analysis.
Miller was named to the specialty tires position a year and a half later.
A native of Canton, Ohio, Miller was born Sept. 19, 1946. He and his wife, Linda, have four children and live in Massillon, Ohio. |
