Gary Hediger is a Managing Director and Global Head of Human Resources for Citi Markets & Banking.
Gary joined Salomon Brothers in April 1985 as a Financial Planner in the Executive Financial Services Department providing tax and financial planning to the Managing Directors of Salomon Brothers. Prior to the merger of Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney, he was also managing Salomon�s Private Investment Department and Private Wealth Management Group. The Private Investment Department provided brokerage services to managing directors, their families, and selected groups within Salomon Brothers. Private Wealth Management serviced the investment needs of very-high-net-worth individuals and families outside of Salomon. In addition, Gary managed Salomon Brothers� Relocation and Expat Service Groups and the Benefits Department, and was a Trustee of the Firm�s Profit Sharing Plan. He was promoted to a Senior Operating Officer in January 1994 and later Director in charge of Executive Financial Services.
Gary became a Managing Director for Salomon Smith Barney in January 1999 and, in that role, had responsibility for Expat Services and Relocation for Citi and as Deputy Head of Human Resources at Citi Markets & Banking, he had responsibility for the CMB Global Compensation, the CMB Benefits Support Group, the Medical Department, Recruiting, Training, and Executive Financial Services. On August 1, 2007, Gary was named Global Head of Human Resources for Citi Markets & Banking. Gary is a member of the Citi Management Committee and the Markets & Banking Planning Group.
Gary graduated Magna cum Laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1973 with a B.S. in Marketing. In 1976, he graduated with honors from Rutgers-Camden Law School and immediately thereafter served a one-year judicial clerkship in New Jersey. In 1982, he received a Masters in Tax Law (LLM) from New York University. Gary has passed the Series 3, 7, 8, 24, 30, 63 Securities Exams.
