Gary joined Apogee in 1995 as director of taxation. He assumed assistant treasurer responsibility in 1997 and was promoted to vice president and treasurer in 2001. Previously he spent 11 years at Arthur Andersen & Co. as a corporate tax consultant.
Gary�s primary focus has been on strengthening Apogee�s balance sheet via working capital management, a focused capital expenditure process, implementation of tax saving strategies and the sale of non-strategic real estate assets. Under his watch, Apogee has reduced its debt by over $150 million and decreased its debt-to-total-capital ratio from 59 percent to 19 percent. He also chairs Apogee�s Pension Investment Committee, responsible for investment oversight of the company�s 401(k) retirement plan.
He holds a bachelor�s degree in accounting from the University of Minnesota, Duluth, and a CPA in Minnesota. |
