Gary Canon joined Statesman in 2007 as Managing Director of the Company s research and valuation department. Prior to joining the firm, Gary spent 23 years in public accounting. For 14 of those years he was the Shareholder/Partner in charge of all accounting, audit and valuation services conducted by the firm. Gary s valuation experience includes, retail, wholesale, manufacturing, construction, utilities, professional engineering, and medical practices. Beyond valuation, Gary has provided expert witness testimony related to the deregulation of the utilities industry in the State of Texas and has acted as a budgetary consultant for a major medical college located in the Houston area. After receiving his degree in accounting from Texas A&M University in 1984, Gary became a licensed CPA in 1986. In addition, Gary is a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) accredited by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analyst and is accredited in business valuation (ABV) by the American Society of CPAs. Gary s professional affiliations include the American Institute of CPAs, the Texas Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. Gary is married with one child
