Corporate Development executive Gary Shumaker provides long- and short-term guidance and vision for VMD to identify and pursue strategic goals and relationships to establish the company as a major player in the federal IT marketplace. Prior to joining VMD, Mr. Shumaker was Chief Operating Officer of Access Systems, Inc. (ACCESS). Under his leadership, ACCESS tripled in size in 2004 and grew by another 60% in 2004. Prior to ACCESS, he was Chief Operating Officer of Multimax, Inc., another highly successful small 8(a) company; during his tenure, the firm grew at an average rate of 25% per year. Mr. Shumaker was a business development executive for SIGNAL Corporation, a firm so successful that it voluntarily exited the 8(a) program early and was subsequently sold for $225 million. Mr. Shumaker holds a bachelor's degree in Communications and a master's degree in Telecommunications, both from Michigan State University. |
