Gary Simmerman is a mining engineer with over 30 years of hands-on underground and open-pit engineering, development, and operating experience. He was recently appointed VP Engineering for Mercator Minerals Ltd., a Company currently building a 50,000 ton a day concentrator at its Mineral Park copper-molybdenum porphyry project which is in production in Arizona. Prior to this, Mr. Simmerman was Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Frontera Copper Corp. which developed the Piedras Verdes copper open pit operation in Sonora State, Mexico, and Mexico�s latest open pit, bulk tonnage mining operation. From 1992 until 2004, Mr. Simmerman was employed by Azco Mining, Inc., most recently as Vice-President, Operations, responsible for the development of Azco�s Black Canyon Mica Project, located near Phoenix, Arizona, was involved in the bankable feasibility study for the Sanchez copper project located near Safford, Arizona, and was responsible for overseeing Azco�s interest in the Piedras Verdes Property. From 1986 to 1992, Mr. Simmerman was employed by Santa Fe Pacific Gold Corp., and as Chief Engineer was involved in the development and operation of Rabbit Creek, near Winnemucca Nevada, a large open pit gold milling and heap leach operation. From 1974 to 1986, Mr. Simmerman held engineering and production positions while employed by Gulf Mineral Resources and Noranda in underground uranium and underground copper-cobalt operations. |
