Dr. Banga joined the company as chief technology officer in October 2006. Previously, he was VP of Product Management at Intellisync, responsible for all client-side products. Banga led the creation of Intellisync Unified Messaging integrating multiple forms of mobile messaging such as email, IM and voice into a seamless, closely interlinked user experience.
Before Intellisync, Dr. Banga was co-founder and CEO of PDAapps, the creator of VeriChat, a world-leading mobile instant messaging solution. PDAapps was acquired by Intellisync in 2005. Previously, Banga was a Senior Engineer at Network Appliance. While there, Banga was co-Architect of NetApp's Virtual Filer and IPSpace technology and led the creation of NetApp's first disaster recovery solutions. Dr. Banga holds a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and both an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rice University.
