Gavin W. McKeon is an associate with Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP and a member of the Firm's Global Corporate Group in Washington DC.
Mr. McKeon represents lenders, sponsors, development institutions, export credit agencies and commercial banks in connection with international financial and corporate transactions, including acquisitions, cross-border secured and unsecured financings and restructurings, primarily in Latin America and Asia.
Mr. McKeon's recent experience includes representing the arrangers in the largest syndicated loan ever extended by the Dutch Development Finance Company (FMO) for Brazilian telecoms operator Nextel Telecomunica��es Ltda.; representing Citibank Japan Ltd. as the lead arranger and administrative agent in the one of the largest corporate based Japanese yen denominated (JPY) syndicated term loan facilities guaranteed by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) for Brazilian telecoms operator Telemar Norte Leste S.A.; assisting the Inter-American Development Bank in a $200 million financing for power company Energisa S.A. of Brazil; representing the lenders in a $500 million debt recapitalization of Brazilian telecoms operator Global Village Telecom (GVT); assisting in the representation of satellite company ProtoStar Ltd. in numerous financings geared towards the launch of satellites in order to lease capacity to Direct-To-Home (DTH) providers in the rapidly growing Asian DTH market; and representing the lead arranger and administrative agent in a $270 million securitization transaction, a $550 million bridge loan financing, and $730 million term loan refinancing for leading Mexican auto parts manufacturer Nemak S.A.
Mr. McKeon graduated from Amherst College earning a B.A. cum laude in history. He holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
