Gene is senior vice president and a director of the Company. He is member of the Board's Investment Committee.
Gene is directly responsible for the Company's day-to-day operations in Atlanta and has regional oversight responsibility for the Piedmont Triad division. The Atlanta portfolio is comprised of nearly 7.6 million square feet which is approximately 15% of Highwoods' total annualized revenues. Gene the founder and former president of Anderson Properties joined Highwoods following the merger of his company with Highwoods in early 1997.
Gene is a past president of the Georgia chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and is a national board member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
Gene holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from the University of Georgia.
