Gene Merutka, Ph.D. joined Zelos in 2006 as the Senior Director and Head of CMC Development. He has extensive experience in pharmaceutical development, quality and CMC regulatory affairs and has contributed to two FDA-approved New Drug Applications. From 2001 to 2006 Dr. Merutka held multiple director level positions at Vicuron Pharmaceuticals, finally as Senior Director responsible for supply chain and product development. Prior to Vicuron, Gene was Director of Process Chemistry at IntraBiotics Pharmaceuticals and previously held multiple positions at Trimeris Inc. Dr. Merutka holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Iowa and a Bachelors in Chemistry from The University of Chicago. |
