With more than 25 years of industry experience, Geoff Caras's expertise is developing technology systems to support and advance business strategies. Currently, Caras serves as Vice President of System Infrastructure at SHOP.COM, the destination online marketplace where consumers enjoy one-stop shopping from thousands of trusted brands using a single account. Caras manages SHOP.COM's operations, databases and security systems worldwide. He is responsible for driving the company's infrastructure roadmap and overseeing development and deployment of new and expanded offerings.During his 16 years as CEO of The Igneous Group, Inc., a technology consultancy, Caras helped clients develop and execute unique and groundbreaking Internet strategies. His clients included large companies such as Quantum, Knight Ridder and Granite Construction; nonprofits; several large educational institutions; and many startups. Prior to The Igneous Group, Caras held positions in product management, engineering management, and software engineering for several Silicon Valley firms. Caras is active in the Monterey Bay High Tech community, having served on the advisory board of the Lighthouse Venture forum and the board of directors of the Santa Cruz Technology Alliance. Caras has taught professional development courses on Web technology at San Jose State and guest lectured at local community colleges. Caras holds a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California, Santa Cruz.
