Dr. George Bray holds the position of Boyd Professor at Louisiana State University and is a professor of medicine at the LSU Medical Center. He recently retired as the executive director of Pennington Biomedical Research Center in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Dr. Bray is internationally recognized as an authority on obesity and the various medical conditions associated with obesity. He is also recognized as an authority on diabetes. Over his 43 years in medicine he has authored over 1 300 scientific papers and abstracts has given over 200 invited lectures and over 100 radio and television interviews and has been awarded 14 research grants centered on his research interests. Prior to his tenure at LSU Dr. Bray was professor of medicine and professor of physiology/biophysics and chief of diabetes and clinical nutrition at the University of Southern California.
Dr. Bray earned his A.B. as valedictorian from Brown University and his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. |
