George E. Metzger was named vice president human resources and benefits for Textron in August 1999. His responsibilities include compensation, benefits, HR strategy, and operations. He also serves on Textron's enterprise-wide Human Resource Leadership Team.
During his career with Textron, Metzger has held key human resource management positions at a number of Textron operations. He joined Textron in 1985 as director of employee relations for Textron Aerostructures, and in 1992 was named Textron Lycoming Turbine Engine's vice president of human resources. Two years later, he was named vice president human resources of Bell Helicopter. In November 1996, Metzger was promoted to senior vice president, human resources and administration.
Prior to joining Textron, Metzger worked at Rockwell International as manager of human relations. From 1969 to 1976, Metzger was manager, personnel for Clark Equipment Company.
Metzger received a B.A. in business administration from Tri State University in Angola, IN. He is a past participant in the Textron Executive Development and the Advanced Management programs. |
