George J. Ali Chief Information Officer
George Ali is the Chief Information Officer at Astoundry. George brings over 33 years of experience deploying and managing I.T. solutions. His responsibilities at Astoundry include directing the project management and development efforts of our on-shore project managers and offshore development teams. George is also responsible for the methodology and processes used by both teams to ensure the products delivered to our clients are consistent and of high quality. Before joining Astoundry, George provided IT management consulting for ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas), providing risk management and metrics management services. Previous to that, George was the Vice President of IT for Asurion, a cellular services company providing insurance and roadside assistance to over 10 million customers in North America and Korea. He was the Director of IT for MethodistCare and Senior Director of IT at NYLCare Health Plans, one of the largest managed care organizations in the southwest. Prior to 1994, he served for eight years as the Regional CIO for Waste Management�s Southern Region and for sixteen years with the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company, leaving as Manager of Systems and Programming. George has a BS in Management Information Systems from Excelsior College and has served as a faculty member at the 1996 Managed Health Care Fellowship in Seattle. He has also served for 5 years as a business leader on the Data Processing Advisory Committee at North Harris County Community College. George lives in Houston, TX with his wife and three sons. When he isn�t coordinating projects for Astoundry, George enjoys attending community theater and playing golf and softball. |
