As of January 2001, George Jenkins assumed the role of President of Tuthill Vacuum Systems, having spent the prior thirteen years as President of Tuthill Transfer Systems. Along with a seasoned view of business, George brings to his new position a wide breadth of knowledge, the ability to energize those around him, marketing know-how, a dedication to lean manufacturing principles, significant international experience and a strong customer orientation.
Since joining Tuthill Corporation, George has overseen many changes in the business. Following the formation of Tuthill Transfer Systems line of business' it was expanded to include the original pump group (Fill-Rite), an electronics product group (Emco Electronics), an oval gear metering group (FPP Meters), and a chemical transfer group (Sotera). Acquisitions also added a pump manufacturing group in Italy and a producer of electronic equipment in the United Kingdom.
With a B.S. in Math and Physics, Mr. Jenkins began his career with Cummins Engine Company. After successfully building a product support and fabrication business at Solar Turbine International in San Diego, he owned an engine distributorship and became a consultant to the service industry. He came to Tuthill from Illinois Auto Electric Company in Chicago, a small engine and Thermo King refrigeration distributor. He has traveled extensively internationally, as well as having lived in Europe for four years.
