George Olmstead has over 20 years experience in the retained executive search business. Mr. Olmstead is based in the firm's Atlanta office. As a partner, he has conducted searches for clients in financial services, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, not-for-profit, real estate and telecommunications. His searches are conducted, primarily, at the Vice President up to Chief Executive Officer level. Among his clients have been world class companies such as BellSouth, Blockbuster, Canada Dry, Crane Company, Equitable, Fisher Scientific, Fortis, Ingersoll-Rand, Kimberly Clark, Mitsubishi, Siemens, and Thompson.
Mr. Olmstead's career began at Citizens and Southern National Bank (now Bank of America) as a management trainee. His career continued in financial services working for Johnson Higgins (now Marsh) of Georgia immediately prior to co-founding Blackshaw & Olmstead. That firm was purchased in 1986 by New York based, Boyden International, where he was a partner for four years. In 1990, he helped start the new search firm which eventually became Blackshaw, Olmstead, Lynch & Koenig - now B O L & K.
He is a past Board member of IMTECH (NASDAQ), Very Special Arts of Georgia, and the Georgia Conservancy. He is a current Board member of Young Audiences of Atlanta and is Board Vice Chairman of the Oldfields School in Hunt Valley, Maryland.
A graduate of the University of Georgia, he attended both the University of Georgia School of Law and Georgia State University Graduate School of Business. |
