George Dowdie was named Senior Vice President-Global Research & Development and Quality in October 2007. He reports to Carl Johnson, Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer, and he serves as a member of Campbell's Corporate Leadership Team.
George joined Campbell in December 2002 as Vice President-Research & Development, Food and Beverage Division, and was appointed Vice President-Research & Development, Campbell USA, in March 2004.
Previously, he spent more than a decade with Joseph E. Seagram & Sons, where he was most recently Senior Vice President of Product Development, Research & Development, Operations and Quality. He also held a variety of new product development roles during his nine years at Frito-Lay.
George earned his bachelor of science degree from Tuskegee University, and both his master of science and Ph.D. degrees from Louisiana State University. He has completed the Executive Management Program at INSEAD Business School in France, and the Advanced Management program at Harvard Business School. George has also pursued studies in finance and accounting at The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, operations and technology management at California Institute of Technology, and brand management at the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Institute of Food Technologists.
George was recognized with Campbell's Influence With Honor leadership award in 2005. |
