George Isham, MD is Chief Health Officer and Plan Medical Director for HealthPartners in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
He is a founding board member of the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement, past board member of the American's Health Insurance Plans, and currently serves on the board of the Alliance of Community Health Plans.
In 2003, Dr. Isham was appointed as a Lifetime National Associate of the National Academies of Science in recognition of his contributions to the work of the Institute of Medicine.
Dr. Isham received his bachelor's degree in Zoology, master's degree in Preventive Medicine/Administrative Medicine from the University of Wisconsin Madison and his medicine degree from the University of Illinois. He completed his internship and residence in Internal Medicine at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin.
