George Knopps extensive understanding of the fuels and lubricants industry has been instrumental in helping his company achieve extraordinary growth. Mr. Knopp started with Young Oil Company in 1979 in the sales department. Later he was promoted to fleet manager, but remained active in selling. Six years after starting with the company, Mr. Knopp, along with Scott Lane, purchased the company from its original owner. In 1994, Mr. Knopp was instrumental in bringing about the merger of Young Oil Company and Ranco Oil Company. That merger made Young Oil Company one of the largest fuels and lubricants distributors in the southeast. Today, Mr. Knopp serves as vice president for the company and is responsible for the management of all outside sales personnel. He is also the fleet supervisor of all rolling stock, and oversees all customer lubricant and fuel equipment purchases and installations.
Mr. Knopp is a member of ExxonMobil National Lube Distributor Advisory Council.
