Mr. Powell joined NorthMarq Capital in September 2003 when NorthMarq acquired the mortgage banking division of Legg Mason Real Estate Services (LMRES) where he was employed since 1992. His current responsibilities include debt and equity placement and investor relations with correspondent lenders. Mr. Powell joined LMRES in 1992 when LMRES purchased Southeast Mortgage Company. He served as president of Southeast, where he had been for thirty years. His 39 years experience in the real estate industry include running a commercial mortgage banking operation, financing, servicing, sales and appraisal. Mr. Powell has a BBA and MBA in Real Estate and Finance from the University of Michigan. He is an MAI member of The Appraisal Institute, a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association of America where he holds the Certified Mortgage Banker designation, and is a licensed real estate salesman and mortgage broker in the State of Florida. |
