Experience: Gerald has been associated with Goodman & Company since 1999. Prior to joining us, Gerald was Chairman with Terry, Hagen & Atwood, P.C. Gerald works with a variety of businesses ranging from small, family owned companies to large corporations. His clients include health care providers, professional corporations, investment bankers, manufacturing and transportation companies. Gerald has widespread knowledge of tax matters relating to corporations, individuals, estates and trusts. He also devotes a significant amount of his time to working with not-for-profit organizations. Not-for-Profit Experience Gerald is currently Partner-in-Charge of our audit engagements to include, among others, the Church Schools in the Diocese of Virginia, the Protestant Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Virginia, the Virginia Association of Independent Schools and the Masonic Home of Virginia. He has extensive experience in the area of private schools and related foundations. Real Estate Experience: In addition to providing traditional accounting and tax services to clients, Gerald has developed substantial expertise working with members of the real estate industry such as land developers, office building owners/operators, and commercial and residential property contractors. Estate Planning Experience: Gerald has many closely held businesses whose owners are involved with wealth transfer through estate and gift planning. Gerald works with families to align goals with effective planning as tax laws continue to change.
