Mr. Laures, Vice President of Finance and Corporate Secretary, joined Cobra Electronics Corporation in August 1988 as Corporate Controller. He assumed the position of Corporate Secretary in 1989 and was promoted to Vice President of Finance and Corporate Secretary in 1994.
Mr. Laures is Cobra�s principal accounting officer and corporate secretary. In addition, Laures has direct responsibility for Cobra�s treasury, data processing, consumer service and e-business activities. He is also directly responsible for establishing and overseeing all financial aspects of Cobra�s European subsidiary, Cobra Electronics Europe LTD, and for managing the growth of Cobra�s e-commerce business.
Prior to joining Cobra, Laures was Corporate Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at Woodland Services Company in Chicago, the management company for Timber Realization Company, a spin-off of Masonite Corporation. Prior to this, Laures held financial reporting and business planning positions with Masonite Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. He began his career with Arthur Andersen & Company.
Mr. Laures received his bachelor�s degree in 1970 from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio and completed his MBA in 1972 from Northwestern University. He is a CPA and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accounts and the Illinois CPA Society, as well as the American Society of Corporate Secretaries. |
