Geraldine Hoyler, CSC, was elected to the CHP board of trustees in 2006 and possesses an extensive background in hospital and system finance; property management and affordable family housing; and governance. Since 2004, she has served as general councilor/general treasurer for the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross.
Previously, Sister Geraldine served as senior vice president, Finance and Treasury, for Catholic Health Initiatives. Her prior positions included serving as president, Mercy Services Corporation, and regional coordinator, Mercy Housing, Inc., and serving as a healthcare consultant. Before that, Sister Geraldine helped lead the development of Holy Cross Health System, and she served as the system�s executive vice president and its first chief financial officer.
At the start of her career, Sister Geraldine served in a variety of finance and healthcare roles, including director, Support Services, for Mount Carmel Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio; director, Financial Management, for Saint Mary�s College in Notre Dame, Ind.; controller and treasurer for Saint Mary�s Hospital in Cairo, Ill.; and assistant controller for Saint Joseph�s Hospital in South Bend, Ind.
Currently, she serves on the Board of Managers and the Audit Committee of CHAN Healthcare Auditors; the Finance Committee of the National Association of Catholic Chaplains; the Integrated Finance Committee of the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees; and the Board of Directors and Board Finance and Strategy Committee of CHRISTUS Health.
Sister Geraldine earned a bachelor�s of science/bachelor�s of arts in accounting and a master�s of science in business administration from the University of Denver. She is a certified public accountant in the state of Indiana, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). In 2005, she received the HFMA�s prestigious Frederick C. Morgan Individual Achievement Award. |
