The April 2002 Washingtonian Magazine states that Gerard E. Mitchell has "earned a reputation as the area's most effective medical-malpractice attorney." Ten years earlier the same publication listed Mitchell as the top-ranked personal injury lawyer among "Washington's 50 Best Lawyers".
He has been certified as a Civil Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and holds the rank of Advocate with the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He is also Past President of the Trial Lawyers Association of Metropolitan Washington, DC and was that organization's Lawyer of the Year in 1984. He is currently listed in The Best Lawyers in America.
Gerard E. Mitchell is 1969 graduate of the University of Virginia Law School, where he was the Notes and Decisions Editor of the Virginia Law Review. Following graduation he served as an Assistant State's Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland. Since then he has specialized in medical malpractice and catastrophic personal injury cases. |
