Giora Bitan was appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer upon joining ECI in August 2002. In February 2007, ECI announced that Mr. Bitan will be leaving ECI to resume his career in venture capital, which is expected to occur in the first half of 2007. Prior to joining ECI, he was for five years a General Partner at Giza Venture Capital, a leading Israeli venture capital group, where he focused on investments in the communications and software sectors. Previously, for fourteen years, Mr. Bitan held various positions in senior management at Scitex Corporation Ltd., or Scitex, serving as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 1987 until 1996. He is a director of Veraz Networks. Mr. Bitan holds a bachelors degree in economics and international relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and an M.B.A. from the University of California, at Los Angeles. |
