Mr. Marchisio is Vice President of Engineering Text Analysis and Search for Insightful's InFact division. Mr. Marchisio is responsible for all research and development for Insightful's text analysis and search solutions. He has articulated novel scientific ideas and software architectures in the areas of multimedia retrieval bioinformatics satellite image mining video compression and mining and computational linguistics which led to three recent US patents.He joined Insightful in 1996 helping with major consulting engagements in finance leading Insightful R&D effort with many agencies of the federal government and most recenty serving as product manager and director of R&D for InFact. Prior to that Giovanni held a number of management or technical lead positions with Active Voice (now a division of CISCO) Sierra Geophysics (Halliburton) and Gulf Canada. He also served as a visiting professor at the University of British Columbia. He holds a B.A.Sc. in Engineering from the University of British Columbia Vancouver Canada and a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of California San Diego. |
