Glen Thornborough is in his second season as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Business Development and his fifth full season with the ECHL, having spent five seasons as Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
Thornborough oversees and manages ECHL Properties and all league marketing and fundraising initiatives. He supervises all aspects of the ECHL All-Star Game and the ECHL Marketing and Communications Meeting, and for the last three seasons has developed a ticket support program to assist teams in the distribution of innovative sales techniques to increase operating revenue.
Since he joined the league, sponsorship and licensing revenue has increased more than 200 percent and he acquired national television and radio distribution for the ECHL All-Star Game. He was the key figure in the Rbk Hockey exclusivity program, introduced the first-ever league-wide game-worn jersey program with The MeiGray Group and negotiated league-wide partnerships with RBC Financial Group, AMI Graphics, Sportstape and Pro HR.
A native of Glenboro, Manitoba, Thornborough came to the ECHL Office from the Jackson Bandits where he served as Director of Corporate Sales during the team�s inaugural season.
Thornborough graduated from the University of Alaska-Anchorage where he played four years in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association and recently completed his Executive MBA at Saint Joseph�s University. He lives in Pennington, New Jersey with his wife Bonnie, who is professor at Raritan Valley Community College, and their daughter, Haidyn. |
