Glenn Rust is the President and CEO of Virginia National Bank. Previously, he served as the Chief Operations Officer and Executive Vice President of Sterling Bank and its parent company, Sterling Bankshares, Inc., a publicly traded, $4 billion, Houston, Texas financial institution, positions which he had held since 1999, and from which he resigned in January 2006 to start a bank consulting company. Prior to becoming the Chief Operations Officer, he was Sterling Bank's Chief Information Officer from 1995 to 1999. Before joining Sterling Bank, Mr. Rust was the corporate Data Center Manager and lead consultant for Texas Commerce Bank. Mr. Rust has been in banking for over 34 years. In Houston, Mr. Rust served on the national Clearing House Board as a Class 1 Director, and served as an Advisory Director for TREEV, Inc., and The Houston Technology Center. Mr. Rust also worked with the National Infrastructure Advisory Council as a substantive contact in the areas of banking and Internet security. Mr. Rust also served as president in many civic organizations and was involved in numerous others. |
