He has been a director of Bowater, Inc., (newsprint and paper) since 2003, Canadian National Railway Company (transportation) since 2001, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (banking) since 2001, Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (oil and gas) since 2002 and Ontario Energy Savings Corp. (natural gas and electricity supplier) since 2006. He is a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, an advisory board member of the Canadian-American Business Council and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Carter Center in Georgia. Mr. Giffin served as United States Ambassador to Canada from 1997 to 2001. He is Chair of the Governance and Environment Committee of the Board, previously the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee. |
