Real academic success at OMED is about mentoring and tutoring students.
As a Tech alumnus, Gordon Moore knows how to succeed at Georgia Tech and has made it his life's work to help other students find the path to success, too. As director and managing partner of OMED, Moore has played a significant role in Tech's national rankings as a leader in graduating African American engineers at the bachelor's. master's, and doctoral levels.
According to Moore, the purpose of OMED is to be an academic unit for the retention and academic improvement of minority students. OMED offers free tutorial services to all students on campus and support for the unique challenges of minority students.
"As we (OMED) celebrate our 25th anniversary this year, we take great pride in the accomplishments of our office and the even greater accomplishments of our students," said Moore.
