Gordon K. Vella is a Director in the Valuation & Financial Opinions Group. His concentration is in real estate valuation and consulting and he has served in the valuation industry for 25 years. He is licensed as a certified general real estate appraiser in Illinois, Michigan, and Indiana. Mr. Vella s real estate valuation and consulting experience includes assignments completed in 22 states for local, national, and international clients involving a variety of purposes including financing, sale/leaseback transactions, purchase and sale advisement, joint venture advisement, portfolio asset advisement for large institutional investors including pension funds, ad valorem taxation, purchase price allocation, marital dissolution, bankruptcy proceedings, condemnation, and property insurance placement purposes. Mr. Vella has appraised numerous property types, including multi-family complexes, high rise CBD marquis office towers, high rise residential condominium and rental properties, industrial, retail, health care, film and stage theatre properties, vacant land, and many other commercial facilities such as automobile dealerships, restaurants, gasoline stations/convenience stores, hotels and large marquis CBD mixed-use properties such as the Hancock Tower in Chicago. His assignments have involved primarily investment grade properties ranging in value from approximately $1 million to over $900 million. Mr. Vella has also completed feasibility and marketability studies, market analyses, highest and best use studies, and market rental rate determinations. Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Vella served in a similar capacity at CB Richard Ellis for approximately five years and Joseph J. Blake and Associates, Inc., for approximately nine years. Prior to these responsibilities, Mr. Vella was the owner of a multi-service real estate company in Houston, Texas. Mr. Vella earned a BS in Education from the University of Nebraska. Mr. Vella is a General Associate Member of the Appraisal Institute. |
